Why Your Website Looks Different in Different Browsers

Browser differences can affect layout, fonts, spacing, and functionality, especially on older versions.

HELP-0100 CATEGORY: Troubleshooting

Not every browser interprets websites in exactly the same way.

Modern websites are built to behave as consistently as possible, but small differences still happen between Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, and older browser versions. These differences can affect fonts, spacing, button behaviour, form interactions, and animations.

Sometimes the browser itself is outdated. Sometimes an extension interferes with how the website loads. Sometimes a browser handles a visual effect differently from others, which makes the design appear slightly off even though the site is technically working.

This does not always mean the website is broken. It may simply mean that the browser environment is affecting how it is being rendered.

If the issue appears in one browser only, check whether the browser is up to date and whether the same page behaves differently in another one. Also try a private window to rule out extension interference.

When reporting the issue, include the browser name and version if possible, the device type, and what looks different. If text overlaps in Safari but not in Chrome, say that directly. The more exact the browser comparison, the easier it is to decide whether the issue needs a compatibility adjustment or is simply a local display inconsistency.
