Social Media Link or Button Not Working

If a social button is broken or linking incorrectly, the issue may be the URL, platform change, or the page cache.

HELP-0104 CATEGORY: Troubleshooting

A broken social media button is usually not a deep technical issue, but it still damages trust and makes the website feel unfinished.

In many cases, the problem is simply the wrong URL. Profiles get renamed, links get copied incorrectly, or old usernames stay in place after a rebrand or platform change.

Sometimes the button itself was updated correctly, but the page is still showing an older cached version. That is why it helps to test on another browser or device before assuming the live website still has the wrong link.

There are also cases where the link works in a browser but behaves differently inside an app environment, especially on mobile. That can create confusion even when the underlying URL is technically correct.

When reporting the issue, include the page where the button appears, which social platform it should point to, and what it currently does instead. If it leads nowhere, opens the wrong profile, or shows an error, say that clearly.

This is usually a quick fix when the information is clear. Without the correct page and the expected destination, it becomes slower than it needs to be.
